Front Edge Re-alignment

As mentioned in my introduction, I had concerns to the alignment on the outside front edge. I measured the gap at 13mm, wrote in on a sticker and placed it as a reminder. 

To try and pull the gap in, I attached two ratchet straps and tensioned so the bowed-out area was aligned. I left this set up for two weeks. When released the gap opened again...grgr.

I wondered, a/ because the trunk was not yet divided, therefore the two connecting hooks could not go between the centre sections, this may have influenced the tension and stopped it from closing in. b/ also, if the trunk was divided I could have had the ratchet pulling in more for the centre rather than the side. 

Best wait until the divide and I will re-try, possibly using large clamps instead of straps. I will re-visit this problem later!
