The Planning Process
In February 2017 I decided to consider just how I would go about doing the makeover. I felt nervous about embarking on this adventure, wondering if I could really make it happen, or alternatively, can I do the trunk justice in the end?
I spent a lot of time searching the internet for information. I collected ideas from Pinterest, YouTube and read blogs from wonderful people both professional and novice, who have taken the time to share their knowledge of either completely restoring or doing makeovers of their trunks.
I viewed what seemed to be every YouTube video and repeated them several times over. Although the videos I saw covered humped and flat topped chest style trunks, but not a wardrobe!
However, I did manage to find Scott Valentine's up-cycle bookcase blog, where he did a makeover of his wardrobe trunk combining it into drawers and open shelving.
Although there wasn't much detail shown of the actual structure of the makeover of his trunk, Scott did a great job, it was nicely done.

I wrote any information from searches that I thought could relate to my wardrobe into a notebook for reference. So, to everyone, thank you so much for taking the time in doing these videos and blogs and sharing your ideas, advice, and experiences. I can only hope that my blog someday will also help someone in search of info into a wardrobe steamer trunk makeover!
