Replacing Leather and Tie Down Straps

In between the covering of the three small drawers I also kept myself busy sourcing out new leather for the drawer pulls and tie down belts of the trunks body.

New leather was purchased and a cobbler cut the pulls and re-made the straps. I managed to keep the leather ties and cane holders. While they are perishing they will see a few year yet and it will be possible to redo new. Any metal e.g. buckles etc were re used.

Original leather loops and metal hardware were kept

Not being great at sewing, I had a go at making the material tie down straps for all the drawers. With the two-large trunk straps I managed to re-use the original lining, again keeping the original metal hardware.
